Despite his tragic death and his short time in the music industry, his music made a profound effect on everyone and continues to live on today. This troubled soul never wanted to become a rockstar, yet, this band took rock and punk to a whole other level, changing the meaning of it all. Something that is not seen today, in the 90s, Nirvana were able to accomplish making rock and punk part of mainstream.

Axl Rose

Lead singer of the all-time rock band Guns N’ Roses, Axl was amazingly gifted with his vocals. Actually, his vocal range is insanely powerful and large to the point where he has been named one of the greatest singers in history by many famous magazines such as the Rolling Stones.

And he was actually a massive influence on great artists such as Freddie Mercury, Chris Cornel, and the one and only Axl Rose.

Bono, or his actual name, Paul David Hudson, ascended in fame and success in the 1980s with the band we all know and love today: U2. Not only is he known to be one of the most passionate singers and songwriters out there, but he is also the rockstar that truly believes he can make a difference in this world by always staying active in charities and other philanthropic efforts. And up to now, he has done quite a lot along with his band.

Bob Dylan was not your typical rockstar. He gave it a whole new meaning, making folk-music accepted to be rock. Hs vocals were not something that would blow your mind away, yet, his music influenced millions and millions of people, giving music a whole new direction, especially mainstream.

He released about eleven albums, and still got to make several collaborations with Black Sabbath. His success and many years of dedication earned him the title, “God of Heavy Metal”.

Joe Strummer is a man of many talents. Songwriter, singer, and guitarist of the classic punk/rock English band, The Clash. Their rebellious attitude as well as the way they continued to experiment with music made them achieve their goal to heavily influence rock.

Last but definitely not least, we cannot dare to leave Jagger out of this list. He brought a sexy twist to the whole rock genre. His career in music, whether in The Rolling Stones or as a solo artist, has a reached a period of five decades. He has been said to be “one of the most popular and influential frontmen in the history of rock & roll.”
